DIY Treats

Hey Guys!

I know that unfortunately summer is ending, but the heat has not! I wanted to share with you guys a recipe that my hubby used to make his own frozen treat last week! He was in the mood for a sweet ice cream treat but instead of going to get some from the store we decided to go a different route. He used bananas, almond milk, almond butter, and ice to make his own shake! It was delicious and he didn’t feel bad after eating it either. I love that even when we get certain cravings for a type of food that we can create our own version that still offers nutrients and satisfies what we are looking for. I want to encourage you all to create your own recipes and try new foods as you do so! There have been times that I have tried something off the top of my head and it didn’t turn out the way I thought it would, but it allowed me to experiment and see what I like and what I don’t like. I was super proud that my hubby Nick decided to try something new; something that would add to his health instead of take away. I hope that as you work towards your goals that you are inspired to try new things and discover how easy and great it can be to change your lifestyle.

Banana/Almond Butter Shake 

1 1/2 Banana

2 T of Almond Butter

1 cup of Almond Milk

A couple scoops of ice

Blend together until smooth and enjoy!
